Magic Camera Shutter Card

I saw this card on YouTube and fell in love. Sadly, the fellow was just showing the card but he inspired me to make this cutting file. As soon as his video was over, I went to work.

My brain wasn't working well yesterday so I spent a good part of the day trying to get things perfect for this cutting file. By the time my hubby arrived home from work I was a bit frustrated. I presented him with a hand full of cards I wasn't happy with. As soon as he looked at one of the cards, he had it all figured out. I ran, yes ran back to my craft room to make some changes to the cutting file. Print and cut all of the pieces...again! then put it all together. A happy dance was going on. I love the way it all worked out.

I've worked on making various sizes but haven't perfected the largest one yet. I hope to get back to it tomorrow so I can share the larger one with you. It works as it is but it is difficult to open and close. I know, nobody want to have to send instructions to the people they send card..lol.

If you would like to download this cutting file which comes in .svg, .dxf, Studio formats, includes PDF instructions, you can download it -----> HERE

Have lots of fun playing with this card. I love card that do something. I hope I get to see some of your card creations with this Camera Shutter card.

Here's a peek of how it works. My dear hubby also assisted by doing the video taping. He has now asked me to please buy a new tripod....lol

One Cutting File Equals Many

Good day everyone! I would like to start out by thanking everyone who has made a donation. Thank you for your kindness and support.

Today, I would like to share a couple of ways I used the "Luck of the Irish" cutting file sets by using a couple of pieces in the set. I've created two pop-up cards by adding just a couple of things. The other pieces were used to embellish the front of the cards. I love anything on a card that moves, pops up, has dimension, movement, or a little surprise. I guess it's the kid in me. :)

The great thing about all of the cutting files we collect over time is the many ways one thing can be used in so many way. Below are just a couple of way I used these.

This is the picture of one quick card I made using the "Luck of the Irish" tag, words, and the little Leprechaun I had hand drawn using Silhouette Studio. All of these pieces are in the cutting file set. I just love the way the little Leprechaun pops up when the card is opened. What a fun surprise. I'll have to get this one in the mail for my mom. She loves stuff like this.

The pictures below are the cover and the inside of the second card I made with the "Luck of the Irish" cutting files. The Leprechaun hat was used on the cover, a little bling of glitter was applied to the shamrock, and the three little shamrocks on the front are those left over pieces from the tag. I used the "Luck" shamrock to make the pop-up element for this card.

P.S. Yes, another P.S.....lol. I wanted to let everyone know, both the Leprechaun hat and little Leprechaun were all hand drawn in Studio. There is so much we can do and create with this awesome software. Again, I would like to add, if you don't own the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition, I would highly recommend purchasing it. P.S.S. - Many may think I am, but I am in no way affiliated with Silhouette. I just love their cutting machines and software. Hugs, Debbie

Luck of the Irish Cutting File Sets

Hello, as many of you already know, I share lots of free cutting files. I have a donation button on the right hand side to make a donation and make it possible for me to continue to do what I do. As kind as many have been by donating, the donations have been few.

Donations help pay for my supplies, time spent designing, photographing, converting each file to various formats, and test cutting every file. I love to share and spend a lot of time working on ways to make crafting and using the Silhouette cutting machines more fun.

Some issues with sharing cutting files has come up. I would like to be able to afford an increase in my "Box" band width. The files I share are downloaded a lot.I'm always happy to learn they are being enjoyed. Each time a file is downloaded or viewed it decreases my band width. It always concerns me when the files I share run out of band width. When this happens, I have to wait until the first of each month before it is reset. Sadly, many end up not getting the file shares until after the reset is complete. I've not received enough in donations to add more band width for the year. As sweet as my dear husband is; I can't expect my him to pay this.

Since I lost my job and it's been a long road trying to find employment. I've dove into doing some good things with my time. My very generous husband makes it possible for me to buy the crafting supplies I use but, being able to buy my own gives me a feeling of independence and makes me feel as though I don't have to burden our family finances to do what I love to do.

Times are tough for many so I've chosen never to sale my cutting files. I want everyone to enjoy crafting as much as I do. I also want to make it as affordable for everyone by sharing free cutting files and make tutorials to help others learn how to make their own creative designs.

In an effort to help keep my cutting files and videos free I'm offering an entire set of "Luck of the Irish" cutting files for those whom make a donation of $2.00 or more. This cutting file set will be emailed to each person making a donation. Each set is in .svg, .dxf, and Studio formats. Each individual cutting file includes images and every file has been test cut.

If you so kindly make a donation, please add a comment to your donation with the words "Luck of the Irish Donation". I will get the files to you as quickly as I possibly can.

I'm totally not a photographer so the picture doesn't do these cutting files justice. I thank everyone for visiting and for helping to keep my shares free for all.

The "Luck of the Irish" sets include:

1. Tag Set
2. Print and Cut/Paper piecing ( It can be cut as a PnC or Paper piecing by ungrouping the file) Little Leprechaun
3. Print and Cut/Paper Piecing Leprechaun Hat
4. Luck of the Irish Tag and Word set
5. Treat Box Holder ( the image of the pot of gold over the rainbow is from Google Images clipart. You can use this or any image of your choice)

May the luck of the Irish be with  all, hugs,
Debbie

Shadow Box Card Freebie

Here's a new card I just designed. You can add your own flair ad design to make it look just the way you want. I have to say, I didn't spend too much time embellishing this card. I basically make the cutting files to share and have handy for when I need them. For some reason, I always think of birthdays first. I guess this is because I send more birthday cards than any other kind.To make the little roses I used the "Spiral Blossoms" cutting file I shared some time ago.

The door opens and within a shadow box inset appears whatever you want. You can place a message, cash, or image. I thought about adding a home-made wobbler to the cake so it would wiggle when the opened. I used a piece of ribbon to make the door knob. Look at those tiny little flourishes. I'm still amazed at the tiny little details a Silhouette die cutting machine can cut.

This cutting file has some instructional pictures in the file. The file formats included are .svg, .dxf, and Studio. Have fun creating. xxx- Debbie

A Diverse Collection of Cutting Files

I've been so busy keeping up with all that has been going on around here I forgot to share some Valentine files but, I also had some other files I've been meaning to share. This is quite a diverse selection of cutting files....lol Below all of the pictures, you'll find the download links for each cutting file. I have been exceeding my band width so if for some reason this happens again, you will need to wait until the first of next month to download them. Box. com resets my band width at the first of each month. I'm currently at 41 % of usage. Last month, one cutting file was downloaded 17,000 times....whew that's a lot of downloads! My blog donations haven't been enough for me to pay for the additional band width monthly fee.

First, I have the I Heart You Pop-Up card, then I have the Heart Embroider/Spirilla file. I jumped from Valentine files to a box/envelope file with the Pinwheel Box.

Oh, I'm not done yet. Because my grandson is into all of sorts of bugs, dinosaurs, and other creatures of the past and present, I was lucky to find a .dxf cutting file on the internet. When I Googled 3D fly, up popped this cutting file. I opened it in Studio with the Studio Designer Edition, converted it to Studio cutting file, then back to a .dxf and a .svg file. The original cutting file required some major changes. I believe it must have been designed to build with balsa wood because the connection cuts were really wide. My grandson loved the fly and friends thought it would work great in a school environment such as a science class. When you look at the picture, it will help you to build this 3D Fly.

The heart embroider/spirilla file was inspired by my friend Helen over at Pinky Papercraft. I must say, her embroidered card is exquisite and looks like a true piece of art. I'm a novice at this. I was a child when I first tried this kind of art. Besides using my toy Spirograph and making some basic square shaped spirilla string art this was my very first attempt doing this with the cutting file I designed. I used a gold thread t make the one shown below. If you want to learn more about this technique, I would suggest contacting Helen over at her blog. She's a terrific lady.

To help you create your "Heart Embroidered/Spirilla" I made this video to get you started. Remember, if you have any questions you can email me by clicking on the "Email Me" link on the left hand side.

The "I Heart You" cutting file was inspired by a cutting file share on the Silhouette Plus forum by Pam/Yorkie mom. I wanted to make my special Valentine a card so I designed this one for him. If you want to learn how to make your own pop-up cards you can find the tutorial on my YouTube Channel.

Last but least is the "Spriral Box". It's actually sort of an envelop type of box.

All cutting file downloads are in .svg, .dxf, and Studio formats. Enjoy!

I Heart Boxes

First, I would like to send out congrats to the Baltimore Raven for their victory in the Super Bowl XLVII. Even with the disappointment of seeing our 49ers not take their 6th Super Bowl trophy home, it was an exciting game. Koodos Ravens. Thanks to both teams for bring on some football, edge of the seat excitement.

Now to get to some fun box cutting files. These will be great for gifts and favor boxes. I know everyone has sweethearts in their lives whom would love to have a treat filled box for their Valentine's day.

The "Heart Box 2" is all in one and it will come with a PDF file of instructions. The "Heart Box 2" can be made with many variations. The "Heart Box 1" is done as a "Print and Cut" . I filled the tabbed strip with a lovely pattern fill from (no longer available) PCCrafter pattern. Since it is a copyrighted pattern I didn't include it in this cutting file but, you can use any pattern you would like it filled with.

Have fun making your heart boxes. If you would like to show them off a little, please email me a picture. I would love to see them.

Both of these files include, .svg, .dxf, and Studio cutting files.

Here are lots of pictures of the "Heart Box 1" with variations. :)

Tutorial - How to get more from your cutting files

I thought many of you would like to learn a couple of tricks on how to get more out of your purchased cutting files. This tutorial will walk you through the steps of creating two card cutting files from one purchased cutting file. The cutting file used in this video is by Samantha Walker. It's file number in the Silhouette Store is: 37585. Remember, Silhouette is having a Valentine Shape Sale so if you don't own this one, now it a good time to get it.

This tutorial was a promised tutorial from one of my YouTube subscribers. I hope everyone enjoys it. Thanks for looking. xxx- Debbie

Super Bowl XLVII Party

There is a great deal of excitement in our home.As many who follow football know, the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens will be playing in the 47th (XLVII) Super Bowl. My husband and son are Indianapolis Colt fans but even our "home" team doesn't out rank their beloved 49ers. Oh, how we watched the games this year on the end of our seats. The excitement, the cheering, the yelling, the jumping up and down through each and every game will continue this Sunday as the Ravens and 49ers go head to head for the ultimate game; the Super Bowl XLVII Super Bowl Champs.

So, I said my husband and son are huge 49er fans, I have to add my cheer leading spirit is just as loud and crazy. I never thought I would be a big football fan but once I learned the game, I've found myself going just as crazy when rooting for our teams.

Besides the excitement of the San Francisco 49ers being in the Super Bowl there will be some other surprises going on around here. I've been working away getting a Super Bowl menu planned, making decorations, and buttons for everyone who will be here on Sunday. My husband has no idea what his ultimate surprise is going to be. He thinks it's the 49ers chocolate cupcakes....lol. The big surprise is, our son will be flying in tonight to be here to watch the game with his dad. He couldn't imagine watching the game without him. I am beyond excited for all of us.

Here are a few pictures of some of the decorations. I want my fellows to enjoy every second with the family while they celebrate the 49ers (their all time favorite team) play in this Sunday's ultimate championship game.

I've made lots of 3D helmets, logos, cupcake toppers and more. This is just a little peek. Today, I'm going to be making more. Aftr all, can you ever have too many decorations....lol.
