I made a huge mistake yesterday and embarrassed myself by reporting it to Silhouette Support today. Yesterday, as I did some auto traces on some scanned stamps I traced, I decided to test cut them. I printed them out and realized the registration mark at the bottom left only printed one straight line. Hmmm...I thought...oh well, let me see what it will do. My Cameo read the reg. marks and began cutting. The top three cut out great but the lower ones near the messed up reg. mark cut way off the image. So instead of investigating more; I went on my merry way and just saved the good one. Today, I thought...well, I should report this because I've heard of others with this "issue". Long story short; the issue was my ding-a-ling self. I printed it on letter size cardstock with A4 paper setting. Duh....no wonder it printed a "strange" straight line and cut way off the image.
Lesson learned...not to self; investigate before sending emails to the kind but busy Silhouette Support team. Here are some pictures of more digi stamps printed and cut perfectly. Look at the cat with the stream of balloons (Penny Black stamp) it even cut out the very thin lines of the ballon string, whiskers on the cat and Santa's parchute strings. I've used the Silhouette cutting machines for a long, long time but never cease to be amazed and thrilled with what it can do.

Dang! I hate when I do things like that! Fortunately, you redeem yourself for all the good things you do find!
ReplyDeleteDo you have a tutorial on how you do these PB cuts? Just wondering if you have a special trick...I scan and then trace. Hmmm...
oh wow, I keep meaning to scan and do some cuts with my stamps but I never though the Cameo could do such a good job of fussy cutting for me. Sorry you made a embarrassing boo boo,but everyone is allowed to make mistakes lol
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie I have learned so much from your posts about the Cameo. I appreciate the time you spend on giving all of us some great tips and the videos you make.
ReplyDeleteThanks again,
Gail
Thanks for sharing your Digi Cut Stamps with us, too. It's nice to know you're human, too (ha!). I love doing this with my stamps and they're so versatile being able to change how large they are.
ReplyDeleteDid something similar the other day, just knew it was either the software or I was going to have to buy a new cutter, it just would not cut no matter what I tried. Forgot that the image I was working on was originally a SVG and no lines were set to cut. One of those "duh" moments
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to be able to go to your blog and find all the help I need with my lovely new Silhouette Cameo which I just love.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all your hard work on our behalf.
Myrna
Thank you all for such nice comments and feed back. I'm glad to know I'm not alone on the setting oopsies.Hugs, Debbie
ReplyDeleteDebbie, this means that stamps can be cut now, thank you so much! Fussy cutting was not in my vocabulary!

I love reading all the updates on your blog. I am still trying to figure out how to weld to make a card. lol
ReplyDeleteThank you Sassy Raggedy, I will make some more videos on welding. There are lots' of fun ways of doing this. You will love all of the neat cards you can make with the Studio software. Hugs, Debbie
DeleteHi Debbie, thanks again for your amazing videos. Did you colour your stamps in Photoshop. I dont have photoshop on my new Mac (did have it on my old Windows PC - never used it!) but dont see that you can do it in I Photo. So I presume the only solution is to colour by hand - haven't got the patience for that :( Is there any other programme that I can use?
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I colored the "chef" stamp in the lower pictures in Photoshop and have colored many in PS but the ones you see are done with Copics.I'm actually better at coloring in with PS than the various kinds of alcohol markers...lol
DeleteThe votes are in and the results.... drumroll please.... You Are A Silhouette Hero! No matter what your oops, you still save the busy folks at Silhouette a tremendous amount of time because you teach us so much here, in clear and easy to understand terminology. Hmm.... I wonder if Silhouette has a "helper of the year award"? LOL!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie, for holding my hand while I learn and for helping me see how much I can do with my Cameo.
Sandy, you have me blushing. Thank you for your day making comment. Big hugs, Debbie
