Studio 3.0.343 Design Fun with Letters and Shapes

Today I made a video to help out a subscriber whom asked me how something involving fonts/letters could be done. I have done these types of videos in the past but thought it was time to make a new one and directly help out Rebeka (the lady whom wrote to me). When I made this video for Rebeka I thought it woud be agood one to post on my YouTube channel in case there were others who would like to learn how this is done.

Rebeka wanted a fleur-de-lis to be set within a letter. She had tried to make one but couldn't figure out what she may be doing wrong. She sent me a nce picture of what she wanted to be able to do. I made one for her and emailed it back but knew it would take me forever to write out the instruction so thus the reasn for the video.

I hope many of you find this helpful and easy to do. Have lots of designing fun, Debbie

  1. Hi Debbie,
First of all thank you so much for all the work you put in to making newbies, like myself understand the exciting world of the Cameo. I'm still learning all the ins and outs so it's a bit of a learning curve but eventually, I'll get it. I'm still using the legacy version of the Designer software because the updated version is still a bit daunting to me, so I'll stick with the legacy until I know the kinks are out (had too many nightmares with bugs in programs from the green bug software). I tried to do the latest tutorial you present (Fun with Letters and Shapes) because my boss at work is a HUGE SAINTS fan and I wanted to do the fleur de lis with her initial. Followed your every step and when it came time to subtract the pieces, it would not do it for me. I tried several times but to no avail, still nothing. Could you please help me because I would love to do this to put on a T shirt and give it to her in time for football season.

  4. I just want to know where are my files I created in the previous versions? I can't locate them when I type the name in.

    1. Hi Ladybug, are these files you created and saved within the Studio Library? If you forgot to give them keywords and titles most likely they won't show up when you type in the name. I very seldom save the cutting files I creat in the Studio Library but have saved a few. I noticed when I typed the names of the ones I gave titles and keywords they show up after typing them. The ones I didn't give keywords won't appear. My created files do appear in the Library but not all of them will show up when I type them in. I usually always save my own designs outside of Studio (on my computer and a flash drive) because it always concerned me the Studio software may open slower with so many files. I hope I've been able to answer your question and wish you the best. Debbie
