I made this design last night and already have the embossing folder made. I have to say; I really enjoyed seeing how nice the embossing came out. I cut two of these files, glued one on top of the other then glued the design to a piece of card stock. I would love to see how some of your embossing projects are turning out. I am honestly thrilled at all of the crafting dollars I'm saving by making my own embossing folders.
This one I created in Illustrator so I have a .svg file format and Silhouette Studio format cutting files.
You can download the .SVG format here -----> Swirls,Leaves, and Curls Pattern
You can download the Silhouette Studio file here ----> Swirls Leaves, and Curls Studio

Your recent posts have me very interested in embossing. What machine do you have for embossing? I must NEED one.
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie ~ These are just beautiful. I am really interested in learning how to make embossing folders with my Silhouette but I am relatively new to the machine and don't have a glue, lol...Do you have a video tut?
ReplyDeleteYou are one very talented lady.I just wish I could figure out how to do some of these on my own. Thanks for sharing your files with us.I love my Silhoutte Sd.

I want you to stop.....making me jealous of all your wonderful projects! Just kidding! ;). You know I love your work! The way I look at it is that the more you figure things to do with the Silhouette Studio, the less we have to (definitely a big YEY!). Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent with us!
ReplyDeletemerci beaucoup pour ce joli fichier

ReplyDeleteHi Alex, I use a Cuttlebug machine. There is a video of me using here to test out how it would emboss with the inexpensive rubber packing sheets bought at a hardware store. Lowe's carries the rubber mats for .98 cents a sheet.
ReplyDeleteJocelan and Mommy25, designing embossing folders is easy. All you have to do is find the shapes you like, weld them together and make them the appropriate size for your project. Making the embossing folders is even easier. I cut out two of the designs, and glue them together on a piece of 4.25 x 5.5 card stock. I could probably get away with just cutting one design but, I feel as though two makes the folder sturdier and embosses a bit deeper. By using the rubber mats you can emboss loads of things. Last night, I embossed, using a piece of lace and a piece of lace ribbon. It worked great!
Another lovely file! Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteLove this file Debbie. Thanks for sharing

ReplyDeleteThank you for the svg file. Is there away to convert your other files to svg?
ReplyDeleteHi ladies, thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. I truly appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, I can convert some files but they don't translate as nicely in .svg format unless I create the entire cutting file in Illustrator which has been giving me problems. I'm working on some ideas to start making all cutting file shares in both formats but, I really would love to get Illustrator working like it should.
thank you for sharing this beautiful file.
