Creating Pop Ups and Paper

Before I became ill with this horrible stomach bug I was busy palying, designing, and creating. I have made several of the "Dangle Pop Up" cards for graduation and my wonderful Mom a Mother's Day card. As I prepare to make a video on how to create pop up card files I thought I would start by shoowing how to create the "Pop Up Stairs" card you will see below.

My mind has been wondering everywhere so I also made a video on how to customize you Silhouette Studio patterns and make your own. You can check out the newest video "Two Power Softwares - Photoshop and Studio" by clicking on the link. I didn't want to post this video here because I have so many pictures to share.

Donation Pop Up Card and Freebie Pop Up Card

It's been a long time since I've created a file for donation. I was inspired by a video I watched to create this cutting file. As you all know, I spend a lot of time creating cutting files and always test cut them before I share them. After I do this I photograph them and share almost all of my files for free. The file " Pop Up Dangle Card" will be emailed to all whom would like to make a donation as my way of thanking them for their kindness and support. I use the money I receive from donations to buy crafting supplies and other things I may need to continue to create and share. This file contains .svg, Studio V2, and Studio V3 files and a link to some video instructions on how to put it together. t folds nice and lfat so it will be easy for mailing

Don't worry, if you don't want or can't make a donation I still have a little goody for you. I made this cutting file in prepartion of making a new video to teach others on how to make pop up cards. Making the video is still a work in progress because making the time with a quiet home is not always easy....lol I know many of you know what I'm talking about. Here is the link to download the pop up freebie:" Pop Up Stair Card". This file is only in the Studio 3 version. Converting files to .svg and other formats has become rather tedious using my old Windows XP. Pretty soon, all of you will be making your very own pop up card. The little kitty reminds me of our quicny cat. He loves yarn so I rolled a little piece of embroidery thread on a toothpick and added it to the stairs.

These first two pictures are the sample ones I made while I figured out the adjustments.Sorry about the blurry picture. I dropped my glasses and abviously it looked clear to me.....lol

  2. Such a great set of cards, Debbie. The stairs card looks very unusual - wouldn't it look great dressed up for (dare I whisper it....?), Christmas. LOL. I am sure your mother will appreciate the little bird variation of the dangle cards and how lucky will those graduates be to receive their special mementoes.

    1. Oh Debbie, I love the little blue bird! Not having graduates or mothers, the blue bird is fantastic!

P.S. I had to laugh about you dropping your glasses, having had cataract surgery last year I can understand!

    2. Marda, I am so glad you like it. I love bluebirds and so does my mom. I drop my glasses quite often because I'm so naughty. They are n top of my head quite often and when I bend over they sometimes slide off and end up on the ground. I broke one pair when I bent over in the driveway and they landed on the concreate. Did this teach me a lesson...I think not as I have such a bad habit of wearing them as a head band....lol.

No whiispers required...lol I need someone to yell it to me I always seem to be finishing up Christmas cards at the last minute. Maybe I do need to get started now...lol

    1. Hi Nance, I just emailed you the file. If you by chance don't get it please email me so I can make sure you do. I want you to be able to enjoy this cutting file now and please don't be concerned with sending a donation. The thoughtfulness you shared is a kindness within itself. Bless you, Debbie

  4. Is there any chance you could do a video on converting to svg. I have a gazelle and designer studio doesn't play well with it. LOL. I purchase Silhouette files and have to convert them. Now with version 3 I can't?

    1. Hi Micki, Silhouette is making this such a chore to do. Because I have to use two different computers to do this it will be hard to make a video on how it's done because the images will be too small. I wish Silhouette would please add this ability. After all people will figure out a way to do this but it sure would make Silhouette even more likeable by their software users if they would add it this ability to their aready nice features. I get sort of ticky when I have to go through so much to sae a Studio design as a .svg....lol Hugs, Debbie

  5. I made a donation, hope it was enough. I make most of my cards for seniors in a nursing home so I know they will enjoy the pop up.
Does this mean you need to upload the new version of Silhouette. I did download it when it was the first version but it wasn't working right so I went back to the older version.

    1. Thank you for sending a donation. It helps keep me in all of the paper and ink I mess up doing test cuts. I wish I could make that perfect file the first time....lol.

The files I'll be sending you are in V2, V3 and ,svg so you don't need the newest Studio V3.0.343. I know Silhouette is working hard on more updates to fix the glitches some are having with the newest version. I am still experiencing a few glitches too but not as many as some. When I go to select a pattern by cliking on the pattern icon it takes forever and that little blue "ball" just spins and spins. I found a work around by going directly to the "Library" to select a pattern but for many this could be frustrating. Please keep the faith, while we await a new update. I'm so sorry the new version gave you so many problems. All we want to do is cut and create so reverting to an older version has been best for many. Best wishes and hugs, Debbie

  8. Hi Stephanie, I received your email just find. I used the reply button to send the file to you then it came back as "Delivery Failure" so I tried to copy and paste the email address you provided and it came back again. I did a screenshot of the message I received and then realized, how dumb, if you can't send an emal then how can you send a screenshot...lol. I don't want to paste your email address in this post because anyone reading this will have your email address. I just tried to send it again and it hasn't come back just yet. Please let me know if you receive it. If not, is there another email address we can try? Hugs, Debbie
