The Silhouette Studio Designer Edition has been one of my best crafting purchases. I love the tools and the ability to open up such a variety of file formats. A couple of my YouTube videos show the extras you get with the Designer Edition. If you're interested in creating your own cutting files of being able to open up various file formats like, .dxf, .gsd, .svg, .png,. tiff, .gif, .bmp you'll want to purchase the Designer Edition. I paid the full price of $50.00 and feel as though it was worth every penny.
Right now, Punkin Patch Stamps has the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition on sale for $32.99. This includes a $10.00 bonus gift digital gift certificate to SVGCuts.com They have some awesome cutting files.

Hi Debbie!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thank you for publishing such a great blog with all these awesome files!! As someone who is a Silhouette Cameo newbie, I can't tell you how much I appreciate the hard work and creativity that goes into all this. I also just discovered your YouTube videos too--what an awesome resource!
While looking back through your blog, I found a really neat card shaped like a fan on your August 14, 2012 post. I've been trying very hard to figure out how to get all the parts cut out on the Cameo but I'm having the hardest part with the grate part. I can't get a decent smooth cut with that part no matter how hard I try. I saved the pdf file from the Paper Crafts Magazine site and then copied it into MS Paint where I saved it as a jpg file. I then opened that jpg file in Silhouette Studio. I actually had to do it in parts to get all the parts cut to scale. The grate is just giving me fits and I don't know how to get it to cut properly when using the Trace function. I've tried twice and both times I've had a paper jam and my Cameo sounds awful cutting it. What am I doing wrong? I would appreciate any words of wisdom! Have a nice night!!
Hello, It's best to cut that grate on a colored card stock and not do it as a PnC. Each part can be moved on the size of paper you are using. There are some parts of the fan (like the saying) which need to be cut as a Print and Cut. When you go to cut this part, don't forget to turn on the reg marks and adjust the reg. marks smaller so any images you want to do as a Print and Cut will fit within this area.
ReplyDeleteI hope we are talking about the same cutting file. I've posted so many I sometimes get lost...lol. If you have any more problems or need any help please feel free to email me. My email link is on the right hand side of the blog. Hugs, Debbie
