A Diverse Collection of Cutting Files

I've been so busy keeping up with all that has been going on around here I forgot to share some Valentine files but, I also had some other files I've been meaning to share. This is quite a diverse selection of cutting files....lol Below all of the pictures, you'll find the download links for each cutting file. I have been exceeding my band width so if for some reason this happens again, you will need to wait until the first of next month to download them. Box. com resets my band width at the first of each month. I'm currently at 41 % of usage. Last month, one cutting file was downloaded 17,000 times....whew that's a lot of downloads! My blog donations haven't been enough for me to pay for the additional band width monthly fee.

First, I have the I Heart You Pop-Up card, then I have the Heart Embroider/Spirilla file. I jumped from Valentine files to a box/envelope file with the Pinwheel Box.

Oh, I'm not done yet. Because my grandson is into all of sorts of bugs, dinosaurs, and other creatures of the past and present, I was lucky to find a .dxf cutting file on the internet.When I Googled 3D fly, up popped this cutting file. I opened it in Studio with the Studio Designer Edition, converted it to Studio cutting file, then back to a .dxf and a .svg file. The original cutting file required some major changes. I believe it must have been designed to build with balsa wood because the connection cuts were really wide. My grandson loved the fly and friends thought it would work great in a school environment such as a science class. When you look at the picture, it will help you to build this 3D Fly.

The heart embroider/spirilla file was inspired by my friend Helen over at Pinky Papercraft. I must say, her embroidered card is exquisite and looks like a true piece of art. I'm a novice at this. I was a child when I first tried this kind of art. Besides using my toy Spirograph and making some basic square shaped spirilla string art this was my very first attempt doing this with the cutting file I designed. I used a gold thread t make the one shown below. If you want to learn more about this technique, I would suggest contacting Helen over at her blog. She's a terrific lady.

The "I Heart You" cutting file was inspired by a cutting file share on the Silhouette Plus forum by Pam/Yorkie mom. I wanted to make my special Valentine a card so I designed this one for him. If you want to learn how to make your own pop-up cards you can find the tutorial on my YouTube Channel.

Last but least is the "Spriral Box". It's actually sort of an envelop type of box.

Having Fun Making Silhouette Studio Cutting Files

Another Silhouette day and I've been buys making box and card cutting files. I share them for free on the Silhouette Plus forum but today I thought I would go ahead and give the link to the Bag Box cutting file. This is a cute little gift bag. I used some left over scrap paper to embellish it. The little flap that holds it closed isn't in the cutting file neither are the flowers at the bottom. I used a punch to make this. Sometimes when I 'm making sample projects I just throw them together with things laying around on my craft table.

I hope you can use this file. I know over time we collect sooo many files and we're never sure of what we have or don't have. I make a seperate folder for each of my designs and take a screen shot of them or a picture of the finished project.After I do this I create a new folder and name it the name of the cutting file. Once this is done I drop the cutting file and the picture of the cutting file into the folder. When I go to view my Silhouette Studio cutting files I always choose thumbnail view; this way I can see exactly what cutting file I'm using. When cutting files are added to the SS library you  can also see what the cutting file looks like. The reason I don't upload all of my cutting files to the SS library is; I don't want the program itself bogged down to the point of taking forever to open.

Easter delights and more going on

A Basket Filled with Easter Goodies

As many of you know, I enjoy making videos and sharing free cutting files but the donations I get aid in my efforts to be able to spend the time doing this. Last month, I made a set of cutting files for those whom so kindly and generously donated. Each month, I'm going to try and make a set of cutting files for those whom make donations. I know times are tough for many. Since I lost my job, we have had to make a lot of cut backs too. Donations make it possible for me to buy some of the supplies I need. I don't get too many donations but the ones I get are very much appreciated. 

This set is in Studio, .svg, and .dxf file formats. Each file includes a picture so you can easily keep them organized.

This month, I've made a set of cutting files for Easter. Those whom make a donation of $3.00 or more will receive all of the files posted below. I hope you enjoy making them.

The "He Is Lord" cutting file is one of my all time favorites. As a Christian woman I felt inspired to make something for our Easter gathering to remind everyone what Easter is all about. The three crosses are symbolic of our Lord and Savior's sacrifice.I added the dark panel at the last minute. I wanted the cross representing Jesus's sacrifice to really stand out. If you place this 3D table decor at eye level it looks amazing! My husband asked me to edit this post to make sure to let everyone know how good it looks sitting on our fireplace mantle. :)

The Bunny Place card holder will look cute on any Easter dining table.

The 3D hinged egg is adorable! Once you put it together, all you have to do is use some strips of paper or ribbon to cover the seams, embellish it and fill it with goodies. The weight of the treats helps to balance the "hinged egg" so you can enjoy seeing this darling egg sitting on a table.

Next, is the Paper Piecing Bunny. It can be done as a Print and Cut or paper piecing. I really enjoy making paper piecings. When I did the test cut for this file; I added a box to the back of it, glued the tail on the box and now it's a treat box holder. There is so much you can do with one cutting file.

Speaking of so much you can do with one cutting file. I also made an Easter Pop-Up card with the very same bunny. 

Last, but oh so fun to make and it comes in real handy. The one in the picture is the one I made as a test cut file. Later, I made one with cereal box weight chipboard, sprayed it with Design Master 14 KT Metallic Finish Gold craft and home decorating paint. Now I have a nice sturdy lipstick organizer.A friend of mine was over on Saturday and offered to buy the sample one I made. Of course, I gave it to her. She loved it. The nice thing about this cutting file is, when you remove it from the box the inside can be made to lay flat.

There's a whole lot of Easter goodies in more in this set of cutting files. Oh boy, have I been busy this past couple of weeks. I've been designing cutting files,test cutting files, converting them, answering emails, and making a new video for the "Die Cut Crazy!" magazine. It may be busy work but I sure do love it!

Today, I'll have my sweet granddaughter. I get to enjoy her two days of the week. I don't get on the computer until after she has gone home with her mommy. This is about 8 p.m. at night so I try hard to multi-task on the two mornings I have her to get all sorts of things done. She gets her around 1:00 so I get as much done as a grandma can in the morning hours.

First, I'm going to start out by sharing the cutting file for those whom didn't want to try the design challenge. I hope many of you did but, designing is not fun for everyone. Tor those whom didn't want to try it and have been waiting for this cutting file, I'm posting the download today.

A dear friend from the Silhouette Plus forum (Barbara/ bdjeepers) sent me another Polaroid camera. It's a great image. I can't wait to make a card with this one and I'll be sure to share when I get it done.

I have another little freebie I thought you all might enjoy. This will come in handy for those gift giving cards and cash. It's a Wallet Gift Card Holder. I cut two small magnets to make the closure. June's Cutting Files Are Here

Good day or evening everyone. In my earlier posts I mentioned, I would try to make a set of cutting files and share a set each month in order to help increase donations. As many of you already know, I am always happy to share the cutting files I make and will continue to share. Each month, as long as time, family matters, and the good Lord permits I'll continue to make files for donations on a monthly basis and will continue to share cutting files throughout the month for all to enjoy.

There are 4 sets of cutting files for this month's donors. Each of the files has been test cut, assembled, and converted into three cutting formats like, .svg, .dxf, and Studio. Each file also has a picture of the finished project.

I was recently asked to join a design team to start selling my files. I thought and prayed about about it. By posting this today you already know my answer. I would love to earn the extra income but not as much as I enjoy sharing.

 Helping others and sharing little things like these cutting files is my blessing. I appreciate any and all donations as it helps me to have funds on hand for those little crafty things we all go through like crazy. I'm also saving for a new computer. My dear old computer has seen better days. Just about all of the keys no longer have letters on them, it's doing all kinds of crazy things but it's hanging on....lol. I must admit to giving it a few mean words. This seems to help...lol Oh, I forgot to add, the "zero number key" has popped out and I can't get it to go back into place. Yes, it's a real gem. I shouldn't say too many mean things about it, I'm fortunate to have a computer.

Cutting File 1: Surprise Box of Surprises

The cutting file below is easy to assemble. You only need to cut two of the outer parts of the box, glue one end to the other and make sure to leave it open. The lid is what holds it closed. The cutting file includes a beautiful frame and border to decorate with. The finished box will measure 8.5 x4. The bow is not part of the cutting file but it's easy to make. I just cut five strips of 1.5 x 11 inch strips of paper, ran them through a crimper, slightly bent so the strips would meet in the center and added a dab of glue to hold the centers down. Next, I criss-crossed the five folded strips adding glue to each layer to make the bow.

Cutting File 2: Accordion Photo Frame Card

This cute little frame card can be made as large as you want. I try to make all of my cutting files to fit a letter size piece of card stock. You cut out the card ( Accordion Frame Base) then bring your photos into Studio and size them to fit into the rectangles I made for the photos to be placed. After everything is cut out all you have to do next is glue the photos behind the frames they fit in then add the easel to the back. This Accordion Photo Frame Card folds nice and flat for mailing.

Cutting File Set 3: Pop Up Box Card with Secret Message Tag

This is another file easy to assemble. It includes the cupcake, pennant, borders, leaves, flowers, and the zipped secret message tag. All you need to do to assemble this is to do a Print and Cut of the Zipped Secret Message Tag and pennant. Make sure to place enough adhesive around the zipped area so when the recipient pulls on the tab it will easily reveal their hidden message.If it's not glued well enough around the zipped area it won't open easily.

Next, fold the box part on the perforated areas. The two piece which will meet in the center on the bottom need to be glued on the three outer edges leaving the center open. I did it this way so I could place the tag through the slit and then into the opening to better hold the tag into place. Since I forgot to photo it from the side I drew a picture of what the side should look like. The pink is the tag.

Last, cut out the pieces of your cupcake in your choice of colors, add the pennant to the top, assemble your flowers or use other embellishments of you choosing and your card is done. The second photo of this card shows how nicely flat it folds for mailing.

Cutting File 4: Babushka Doll Card

I drew this little cutie in Studio and set it all up to be a card. The little Babushka Doll was Printed and Cut then adhered to the card. The smaller blank doll shape is for adding a sentiment. If you use this to place a sentiment inside your card make sure you print and cut it with the Babushka Doll to save time and paper. Also, don't forget to set your type to "No Cut". I've only done this...well....way too many times...lol. Do as I say and not as I do....hee, hee. 

Stationary Card Box

Some time ago I made a Stationary Card Box by using a tutorial on Splitcoasterstampers. The tutorial is by Jackie Topa. The tutorial is great but it took me a while to make it. I gave the first one I made to a friend as part of her birthday gifts. She loved it.

Now that I have a Silhouette Cameo that can cut the 12 x 12 card stock, I wanted to have a cutting file to be able to cut and assemble this adorable stationary box a lot faster and easier by not having to do all of the scoring and cutting. It took me a while to make the cutting file but it was worth the time. Now I have it on hand to make a nice gift a lot faster and easier.

Even with this cutting file on hand it would be a tremendous amount of help to look at the tutorial by Jackie Topa on Splitcoasterstampers. Here is the link for viewing her wonderful tutorial: Stationary Box Tutorial. I'm so glad I was able to locate it again. I thought I had the instructions saved on my computer but I didn't. Without Jackie's great tutorial and measurements, I don't think I would have been able to make the cutting file.

Since 12 x 12 card stock has to be used to make the Stationary Card Box, I had to make this cutting file for the Cameo. Usually, I try to share cutting files for all Silhouettes. It would not hold cards if it were made into a smaller format.

I have placed all elements of this box on one cutting file. All you need to do is cut one part, slide it off the cutting area then, move the next part on the cutting area. I have grouped each part of the box. For the note card paper. I copied this one onto a new work are so I could do a print and cut of the lined paper to add to the note pad. I made eight sheets of paper using regular type paper.

Each of the ladybugs on the note cards and tags were hand colored to give these tiny images some vavoom. The flower on the front was made by crumpling 1.5 inch scallop shapes, peeling them into two layer each, and building the layers to create the flower.

A Crabby Pocket Envelope Card

Thanks to two generous and talented ladies in the crafting world I was able to make this fun card. Barb Dersken is a lady who is always generously sharing some great cutting files. She is also a member of the Silhouette Plus forum where  she recently posted about this terrific file she is sharing. You really should check out her blog Lalalime blogspot . You can download this adorable crab and find so many other terrific cutting files.

The other wonderfully talented lady whom recently shared this awesome tutorial on how to make the pocket envelope card is Audrey from Cute and Some blog. She has many inspirational projecs on her blog. I totally recommend her blog as another blog hot spot to check out.

I asked Audrey if it would be okay for me to make a Studio cutting file for this card. She so kindly granter her permission. The cutting file I am sharing is one with her tutorial. Shamefully, I have to admit I had problems. I know it's something I did wrong so I modified it by cutting off two of the tabs and tucking and glued in the longer tab at the bottom to close the bottom. Please check out Audrey's blog I linked above for her instructions. I love the way her Pocket Envelope Card stands up. The one I made is more flat.

Posted below is the card I made through the generosity of two talented ladies.I hope you all get the chance to stop by both Barb's and Audrey's blogs. You'll be happy you did. I'm sure glad I visit them.

I don't want to end this post without adding a few details and giving credit to the artists of the graphics I used to make this card. The top shell portion of the crab I used one of my faves,Glossy Accents which impatient me didn't wait for it to completely dry before I took the picture. It has such a nice glassy look when it completely dries. To give this cutie crabs eyes a dimension, I used Inkessentials Enamel accents.To add even more dimension, the crab is layered. The background is behind the crab is from PCCrafter's Artist. The graphic set is from the set "Sail Away". Sadly, PCCrafter is no longer open to purchase graphic sets. The inside of the card is also a graphic set from PCCrafter. The name of the graphic set is from the collection: "Mitzi the Duck" and the artist is: Beth Yarbrough. Mitzi makes me smile.

Both the background and the Mitzi Duck was a Print and Cut. I love this feature of the Silhouette cutting machines. The Print and Cut feature gives me the opportunity to easily cut out all of the thousands of graphic set I've purchased over the years.

File Box Freebie

As I looked around my craft room, I noticed a basket of cut pieces I've saved over time. I hate throwing things away when I think they can be used. The problem is, when I stash them away in this little basket, they end up being forgotten or I just don't feel like sorting through them. I always seem to want o cut extra pieces of whatever I'm making if there is space on the card stock.

When I sorted through the basket of all the extra pieces I cut I found lots of nice little cuts. I had everything from Print and Cut extras, to borders, frames, tags, and more. After doing all of this sorting, I decided to make a little  file box for all of the left over cut out treasures.

This cutting file has instructions typed up when you open the file. I wanted to make the bottom extra sturdy but thought it would need some instructions to help explain how I made it.You can always un-group the cutting file and delete the instruction. The instructions are set to "NoCut" but if you want them out of the way you can delete them or move them off the cutting page.

 I also wanted to make sure letter size card stock could be used so all of those with the Silhouette SD or the original Silhouette could use this cutting file. I love my Cameo and the ability to cut on a larger format but I have lots of letter size card stock so, as many cutting files as I share it's important to me to make as many as I can so all Silhouette cutting machine users can use them.

The embellishment on the front is a sprocket shape. I added a pop-dot to the back of it to make it stand out, a scalloped shaped as the background and a clear rhinestone for bling. I love that bling. :-) The sprocket shape is included in the cutting file.

Gorgeous Egg Vase Freebie

Good day everyone. I'm so excited to share this project/cutting file! I know you'll have lots of fun making these. They are easy to make and look great.

Sandra Alicante from the Silhouette Plus forum and I worked together creating this wonderfully fun and easy to put together "Easter Egg Vase". Sandra had the creative idea of making this lovely vase. I worked with Sandra to tweak the cutting file to make it easy to put together. Together, we also came up with various cuttable embellishments added to one grouped area on the cutting file. I always try to keep all files together within a file. You can always ungroup the emebellishments and just use the ones you would like or create your own special details.

 It is all set up in a letter size (8.5 x 11 inch ) cardstock so all Silhoutte and other cutting machine users can cut this lovely box. The lid comes off and can be filled with Easter treats to share with your Easter guests. It makes a beautiful Easter decoration for the home and can be a special gift to your Easter gift recipient.

Sandra and I had a blast working together to perfect this cutting file. Sandra is new to designing but she jumped right in and has been creating some wonderful shares. She flattered me when she said it was my videos which made her have the interest in designing and sharing. She is one sweet lady. I can't say enough good things about her.

As most of you already know, I never share anything unless it's been test cut. Sandra and I made many of these test cuts in order to perfect this cutting file. I'm adding some pictures of Sandra's Egg Vase( which ended up loading to be set at the bottom of the pictures and when I tried to move them around I made a mess so I'm leaving them they way they came into the blog) and a couple of the  Egg Vases I made. Sandra has some of the most beautiful paper and wanted to create a more masculine kind of egg. I think it is so elegant looking. She cut out the teardrops in a silver paper and really made it unique and even more beautiful. The one I made in white was the last one cut. I intended to only cut it on white cardstock because I didn't have the intentions to keep it. The next thing I knew; I was grabbing bits and piecies and gluing them on so I now have both Easter Egg Vases sitting around. My family has been here the past couple of days and they love them so it looks like I'll be making more.

Luck of the Irish Cutting File Sets

Hello, as many of you already know, I share lots of free cutting files. I have a donation button on the right hand side to make a donation and make it possible for me to continue to do what I do. As kind as many have been by donating, the donations have been few.

Donations help pay for my supplies, time spent designing, photographing, converting each file to various formats, and test cutting every file. I love to share and spend a lot of time working on ways to make crafting and using the Silhouette cutting machines more fun.

Some issues with sharing cutting files has come up. I would like to be able to afford an increase in my "Box" band width. The files I share are downloaded a lot.I'm always happy to learn they are being enjoyed. Each time a file is downloaded or viewed it decreases my band width. It always concerns me when the files I share run out of band width. When this happens, I have to wait until the first of each month before it is reset. Sadly, many end up not getting the file shares until after the reset is complete. I've not received enough in donations to add more band width for the year. As sweet as my dear husband is; I can't expect my him to pay this.

Since I lost my job and it's been a long road trying to find employment. I've dove into doing some good things with my time. My very generous husband makes it possible for me to buy the crafting supplies I use but, being able to buy my own gives me a feeling of independence and makes me feel as though I don't have to burden our family finances to do what I love to do.

Times are tough for many so I've chosen never to sale my cutting files. I want everyone to enjoy crafting as much as I do. I also want to make it as affordable for everyone by sharing free cutting files and make tutorials to help others learn how to make their own creative designs.

In an effort to help keep my cutting files and videos free I'm offering an entire set of "Luck of the Irish" cutting files for those whom make a donation of $2.00 or more. Fairies In A Jar

Today is my granddaughter's fourth birthday. She is having a little party. Her gift from me is a girl's day our. She  loves to have her nails painted. So, grandma is taking her to a salon to get her nails and toes painted, go to a nice lunch all dressed up, and just hang out together enjoying a special time together. Our grandchildren love these one on one days.

Things You'll Need


1. A Silhouette Cutting machine or good pair of scissors The cutting file download is located below.
2. Jewelry Wire
3. DecoArt Glo In The Dark writer paint
4. White card stock for printing images
5. Any color of card stock to make the circles for the lids
6. Small and Medium Glue Dots
7. One Quart Ball Jar
8. Embellishments of your choice
9. Ribbon to secure the Fairies In A Jar tag.

* Please make sure to be cautious with the glass jar and small children. It would be great if you can find a nice clear plastic jar.

** Note: When the fairies loose their glow, just place them in some light for a bit and the glow will  come right back. :-) 

Time to get to business...lol. I didn't want to show up at her party without anything in hand so, I made her these fairies in a jar. She LOVES! fairies. In the picture the very thin silver thread shows but, they barely show when you see them in real life. Each pair of little wings was painted with a ArtDeco dimensional writer paint, then I poked pin holes into one of the two 2.265 circle cut on the my Cameo and cut out wings I filled with various colors. Each wing that hangs takes two wings back to back. I glued them together, leaving a bit of room to place a Glue Dot so I could place the silver thread between them to hang. Now, back to that circle I already cut out and poked 27 holes in. After the wings completely dry, thread the strings with the wings through the holes (A good jewelry thread works great!) and tie a knot at the top to hold them into place. After all of your fairies are tied, take the second 2.265 circle and add some medium sized Glue Dots to it. Line up bot of the circles and press together. This circle will cover up all of the threading places. You are ready to add the last of the glue dots and place it into the clear Ball jar! Add several medium Glue Dots to the top of the circle and press it into the lid of the jar. Decorate your jar as desired. Add your fair tag. My tag says; "We little fairies come from afar, to live inside this pretty jar. When your room goes dark at night, our wings will glow to give you light.", you can make up your own saying or use mine.

Ready for the fun part? Take your fairy creation into a dark room and see the magic come to life. I wish I could have taken a decent picture of the beautiful glow.

* If you would like to enchant the little boys or girls in your life with a fairy jar please check back later for the cutting file. I have to go and get ready for the party and have the file on my other computer.

A special thanks goes out to my wonderful husband who ran all over town getting me the supplies for this project and to my youngest daughter who spent the night because she was sick but got up in the morning feeling better and helped me paint all 27 = 58 sides of the wings.

We're not done yet! Many of you already know about the kind, sharing, creative Barb Dersken from Lalalime Blog and she has more goodies for you. This is what I created using the cutting file she's sharing today.Each one of us have created something different so, make sure to visit everyone and please, don't forget to leave some blog love. 

I created this card with Barb's cutting file. As you can see, the wings open up to reveal the contents of the card. I embellished it with pink ribbon and some clear rhinestone hearts.
