A Peek at Studio 3.0 Updates to Come

Good day Silhouetters, I thought I should take a moment to make a video showing you some of the features you can expect in the updated version of the Studio V3 software. We are still doing beta testing and reporting back to Silhouette. I just want all of you to know how very hard everyone is working to make this software fun, user friendly and the very best it can be. I've always loved using the wonderful Studio software and know I will continue to love it. There is no comapny I know of who is so dedicated to the best customer support a company can provide. They listen to their customers and take action. A big standing ovation for Silhouette :)

Here is a video giving you all a peek at what is to come.

  2. Thank you for the video. It's nice to know that Silhouette listened to the advance users and the not so advance user(me) for the cut settings. Do we still have to send our project through the Cameo twice if our project has cut and perforated lines? Thanks for all your help.

  5. Hi Debbie, I often watch your videos and I'm hoping you'll have an answer for my question. I downloaded the "new" upgrade for Silhouette Cameo and when I try to follow your tutorial for replicating a circle around a larger circle, my small circle just replicates itself in one place. The center of rotation moves, but the circles are all right on top of each other. Is it a glitch in the software...or user error? Thanks for any help!

    1. It must be a glitch or something. The same thing happens to me.

  6. Thanks Debbie for being so positive about the Silhouette update. When you "expect" good things to happen, they most often do. We know what a great tool our Silhouette is and I really appreciate their dedication to make it even better. I am happy to give them the time they need to work out the kinks! Thank you for your willingness to share your knowledge and to make positive suggestions!

  8. Thank you so much Debbie.
    Perseverance should be your name.
I am so happy you are a representative (so to speak) for
Silhouette. When I got my Cameo last year you were so kind and
so sharing of your knowledge and designs with me.
Your videos taught me a lot. And still do. I did not download the V3
simply because I watched your blog and our sometimes "Geeky Girl" :)
She is another wiz. To get back to U. You are once again teaching and
training with your great videos. I just want to say that maybe when they
re-release I will be ready to tackle another learning venture. Watching is
my learning so keep up the excellent work. Silhouette has to be extremely
proud of you as a tester! P.S. So sorry for you and your family's loss.
I am happy to see you back and starting to get your groove on :)
I missed you! Thanks for being their Deb….hugs Julie

  11. Thank for all your beta test checking and your video
In the delivery V3 version, there is also one thing which seems like a bug
When we used the "move in front" or "move in back" buttons the objet will go outside the layer !
il seems it will better if it was the layer which will go above or back OR another solution the objet will go in front or in back but in staying in the layer
Sorry for my incorrect english but I am a french woman
Do you have check this ?

    1. There are so many issues with the current Studio 3 . Some are getting errors and seeing bugs which others are not. This sounds like another bug. I am now on Beta test 3 so hopefully by the end of this weekend the programmers at Silhouette will have all of these issues/bugs fixed. I'm so sorry to learn of the issues Silhouette users are having but am so glad Silhouette is the wonderful comapny they are and is working so very hard to make us all happy Silhouetters. Hugs, Debbie

  12. Thanks so much! Just had time to watch this video and I'm a happy girl now! Will we be able to cut the perforated lines and the cut lines at the same time? Or will we still have to do them separately? I'm really starting to get excited about the new Studio 3! I know you or Silhouette have always helped me out when I had a problem and I'm thankful for that. When I first saw the new version, I was glad I didn't download it. There for awhile I thought I'd have to look into a new cutting machine and program. So glad that I don't have to now. I LOVE my Silhouette Cameo and was not looking forward to changing. Thanks again to you and all the others working so hard to make it easy for the rest of us! Hugs!!

    1. Hi Becky Jo, the new verison that will be released soon will have the old "Standard" cut settings...woohoo! Even thought I very much enjoy using the "Cut by Layers, "Cut By Line Colore" and "Cut by Color fill" it's nice to know I can also use the Satnadard cut settings. I know many others are also happy about this.

  14. I'm very excited for the update! :D I use different colors to differentiate between cut lines and perforated lines anyway, so it's pretty cool to have the option to cut by color. Can't wait to play around with the updated version of V3. Thanks for all the time and effort you've put in being a beta tester for Silhouette.

  15. Hi Debbie, I have shared my own design files with my daughter who has just got a Silhouette. She was able to open all the ones I did in the old software, but she cannot open the one I have just done in V3. She has not downloaded the new software as she wants to wait for all the bugs to be sorted. Is this still one of the problems. Another thing I noticed was that when I put 12 files (one on each page) I was not able to scroll with the arrows on the bottom of the of the page - the arrows did not work. Is this also a problem? Thanks for your help

  16. Hi Juia, the new Studio 3.0.343 is now out and it can only be downloaded by going to the Silhouette America website. If you created files in V3 they will onnly be able to open up in V3. The option in the new release of Studio 3.0.343 is to save as V2 files and they can be opened in the older versions of Studio. I'm not sure why the arrows are not working. Are you using the new 3.0.343? Here is the link to download the Studio 3.0.343 http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/software/silhouette-studio

  17. Hi Debbie, thanks very much for getting back to me. Yes I do have 3.0.343, so I dont know why those arrows are not working. How do I save the files I do in V2, I just hit the save in My Designs, I dont see an option to save it in V2? When I go to the save it only gives me the V3 format.

  18. Julia, I 'm wonderng if the V3.0.343 installed correctly. Pleas go up to "Help, About Silhouette Studio" to double check the version. If it shows in smaller gray letters you have the 3.0.343 then I would call Silhouette support. You should have the option when you go to File, Save As, Save As Legacy (V2). Your Studio program may still be running the 3.0. I don't know how this is happening. You should call or email Silhouette Support if you show you are running the 3.0.343 downloaded from the Silhouette Support website. Please let me know how things work out.

  19. Hi Debbie. Thank you so much, I was saving it incorrectly, just went to Save instead of Save As and V2 is there so have resaved it so I can send it to my daughter. What would I do without you :) You are a star
